Currently attending Lamar University through an early enrollment program. Freshman in college and 17 years old. No declared major, but I'm strongly considering sociology or political science.
Experience
Most of these tutoring accounts are offering the service of sitting down with your kid and giving them a bumbling and incomplete understanding of the subject, at best. I, on the other hand, aim to provide an actual education on any topic that I am hired to assist with. I have always been the most intelligent person in my peer group, so I have had extensive tutoring experience simply by fault of being the only one who knew the material. I scored a 2130 on the SAT when I took it a year ago, and hope that my score will improve when next I take it. On my AP US History test, I scored a 5 (the highest). I want to be a tutor because I enjoy seeing that difficult problem 'click' in students' heads, especially when that problem has to do with social science. That's not to say that I don't enjoy hard sciences and math- on the contrary, they're fascinating. But to be a truly successful individual, one must have a strong foundation in the social sciences. I have taken classes on all subjects that I have listed, as well as additional classes on communication and leadership skills. It's also worth noting that I am a Boy Scout, and a Life Scout at that- just one rank away from the fabled Eagle Scout. Overall, I am quite simply one of the most intelligent tutors that you will be able to find, and I complement that intelligence with a gift for communication, great patience, and a thorough and deep understanding of each topic. If I am selected to teach your child a subject, they will go beyond simply memorizing lists of facts and figures- I aim for them to have a thorough understanding of the subject in its entirety.
