I've been both the tutor and the tutored, so I definitely know we all need help sometimes when it comes to academics. Since my freshmen year of college, I have been helping my peers with everything from writing literary analyses to studying for a big geology exam. And sometimes I needed their help in return. I spent two years in graduate school teaching undergraduate science labs. This experience taught me (yes, the teacher) that since universities are filled with diverse backgrounds and levels, both teachers and students need to be adaptable when it comes to learning new information. I like to work with each individual on their own personal strategy for retaining knowledge and applying it down the road.
